A CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography) scan is a specialised dental imaging technique that captures the teeth, jaws, sinuses and related structures in three dimensions, allowing the dentist to view anatomy from any angle and take accurate measurements. Compared with a conventional flat X-ray, CBCT reveals bone volume and density, the precise position of nerves and the sinus, the full anatomy of root canals, and the orientation of impacted or unerupted teeth — information that is essential for planning treatment safely and predictably.
