Vampire Lift (Facial PRP / Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Type

PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

The vampire lift is a facial PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment at DR.MEK in Berlin-Charlottenburg. A small blood sample is drawn and centrifuged to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma, which is then injected into the skin of the face to support the skin's own regeneration. Because it uses the patient's own blood rather than synthetic substances, it is a gentle approach to skin rejuvenation and may be applied to the face, neck, décolleté and hands. A numbing cream is applied beforehand, and a course of three sessions four weeks apart is typically recommended.

The vampire lift, also known as a PRP or platelet-rich plasma treatment, is one of the signature aesthetic procedures at DR.MEK's private dermatology practice on the Kurfürstendamm in Berlin-Charlottenburg. The treatment uses the patient's own blood: a small sample is taken from a superficial vein and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma. This concentrate is then injected into the skin in small doses. Platelets carry growth factors that are associated with the skin's natural regenerative processes, and the treatment may support the formation of collagen and elastin over the weeks that follow. Because the plasma is derived from the patient's own blood rather than from synthetic fillers or active substances, many people choose it as a gentle, biocompatible option for facial rejuvenation. Common treatment areas include the face, the delicate skin around the eyes, the neck, the décolleté and the back of the hands. To keep the procedure comfortable, an anaesthetic cream is applied roughly 30 minutes before treatment. The session itself involves several superficial injections, after which a cooling mask and a soothing cream are applied. Mild, temporary effects such as redness, small wheals at the injection sites, swelling or minor bruising can occur and usually settle within a few days. To achieve the most noticeable results, the practice recommends a course of three sessions spaced about four weeks apart. The same autologous-blood approach can also be directed at the scalp, where it is associated with stimulation of the hair follicles. A consultation with the dermatologist precedes treatment to assess suitability and plan the areas to be treated.
