Profhilo® Skin Bioremodelling

Profhilo® at DR.MEK in Berlin-Charlottenburg is a hyaluronic-acid bioremodelling treatment. Unlike a volumising filler, Profhilo is injected at a small number of strategic points and then spreads through the tissue to deeply hydrate the skin from the inside, which is associated with improved skin quality and firmness. Profhilo® is a skin-quality and bioremodelling treatment offered at DR.MEK's private dermatology practice in Berlin-Charlottenburg. It is based on a highly concentrated form of hyaluronic acid, but it is used quite differently from a conventional volumising filler. Rather than being placed to add shape or fill a specific fold, Profhilo is injected at a small number of strategic points across the area; from these points it spreads through the surrounding tissue, moisturising the skin from the inside and acting on overall skin quality. The treatment is associated with improved hydration, firmness and a refreshed, more radiant appearance, which makes it a popular option for skin that has begun to look tired, lax or dehydrated, whether on the face, the neck or the back of the hands. The procedure itself is quick and carried out on an outpatient basis at the practice. Because only a few injection points are used, downtime is generally limited, though small bumps of product at the injection sites, mild redness or minor swelling can appear immediately afterwards and usually settle within a day or two. As with the other hyaluronic-acid treatments at the practice, contraindications include pregnancy, breastfeeding and a known allergy to hyaluronic acid, and a consultation precedes any treatment so the dermatologist can confirm suitability and plan a protocol.
