Brain MRI at Dr. MAGNET uses the 3-Tesla Philips Ingenia platform, which provides roughly twice the signal-to-noise ratio of standard 1.5T scanners. This translates to finer anatomical detail, better white-grey matter differentiation, and improved sensitivity for detecting small lesions — a meaningful advantage in early-stage screening where findings may measure only a few millimetres. The standard protocol includes T1-weighted and T2-weighted sequences for structural anatomy, FLAIR (fluid-attenuated inversion recovery) for periventricular and cortical lesion detection, and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for acute ischaemic changes and cellularity assessment. The Kramare location additionally supports IcoBrain AI volumetric analysis, which quantifies brain structure volumes against age-matched normative databases and may detect neurodegenerative patterns before they become clinically apparent. Contrast-enhanced sequences using gadolinium-based agents are available when clinically indicated, at an additional cost of approximately EUR 130 for the contrast agent plus injection fee. Contrast is typically requested for suspected tumours, infection, or inflammatory conditions where blood-brain barrier integrity is in question.
