A vascular laser targets dilated capillaries, spider veins and persistent redness by delivering light that is absorbed by the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and fade while sparing the surrounding skin. Dr Luch treats single or multiple facial vessels, vessels on the nose, redness on the neck and body, and small venous lakes on the lips. Pricing depends on the number and area of vessels treated.
About this treatment
Vascular laser treatment uses a wavelength of light that is preferentially absorbed by the haemoglobin inside small blood vessels. The light energy heats and damages the vessel wall so that the vessel collapses and is gradually cleared by the body, reducing the appearance of visible capillaries, spider veins and diffuse redness while leaving the surrounding skin largely unaffected. At Dr Luch the area is assessed and the laser settings tailored to the size and depth of the vessels. Treatment is quick — often only minutes for a few vessels — and feels like a series of small, hot pinpricks; cooling is used for comfort.
