A vascular laser targets dilated capillaries, spider veins and persistent redness by delivering light that is absorbed by the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and fade while sparing the surrounding skin. Dr Luch treats single or multiple facial vessels, vessels on the nose, redness on the neck and body, and small venous lakes on the lips. Pricing depends on the number and area of vessels treated.
Vascular laser treatment uses a wavelength of light that is preferentially absorbed by the haemoglobin inside small blood vessels. The light energy heats and damages the vessel wall so that the vessel collapses and is gradually cleared by the body, reducing the appearance of visible capillaries, spider veins and diffuse redness while leaving the surrounding skin largely unaffected. It is a well-established approach for facial telangiectasia, redness around the nose and cheeks, and similar concerns elsewhere on the body. At Dr Luch the area is assessed and the laser settings tailored to the size and depth of the vessels. Treatment is quick — often only minutes for a few vessels — and feels like a series of small, hot pinpricks; cooling is used for comfort. Afterwards the treated vessels may darken, and you can expect temporary redness, mild swelling or occasionally small bruises that settle over days to a couple of weeks. Larger or more numerous vessels, and conditions such as rosacea-related redness, may need more than one session for the best clearance. Strict sun protection is advised before and after treatment, as tanned skin increases the risk of side effects. The clinic prices treatment by the number and location of vessels, from a single facial capillary up to more extensive redness on the body or a venous lake on the lip. Suitability and realistic expectations are discussed at consultation, and treatment is avoided over tanned or broken skin and in pregnancy.
