Type
PRP/PRF Therapy
Duration
1 hour
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and injectable platelet-rich fibrin (iPRF) use a small sample of your own blood, processed to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, then reintroduced to support skin repair and rejuvenation. Because the material is entirely your own, it is well tolerated and a natural option for improving skin quality. At Dr Luch both PRP and iPRF are offered per area, with a short course advised for the most noticeable results.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and iPRF (injectable platelet-rich fibrin) are regenerative treatments that harness your own blood's healing components. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors that signal tissue repair and collagen production. PRP is the more familiar liquid concentrate, while iPRF is prepared at a gentler spin to produce a fibrin-rich product that releases growth factors more gradually; both are reintroduced into the skin to support tone, texture and firmness. At Dr Luch the process — blood draw, preparation and treatment — takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing cream applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of allergy to a foreign substance, which makes these treatments popular with patients who prefer a natural approach. Expect mild redness or small bruises for a day or two. Results build gradually as the skin remodels over several weeks, so a short course spaced a few weeks apart is usually recommended, with occasional maintenance. PRP and iPRF are well suited to dull or tired skin and can be focused on areas such as the face or the thin skin under the eyes. Suitability is assessed at consultation; they are not performed in pregnancy or in certain blood or clotting conditions.
