Chemical Peels
Duration

A chemical peel applies a controlled solution of exfoliating acids to the skin to remove the outer layer and encourage fresh, more even skin to surface. It can improve dullness, uneven tone, fine lines, congestion and early pigmentation. Dr Luch selects the peel type and strength to suit your skin and concern, treating the face, neck or décolleté, with a short course giving the most noticeable refinement.
A chemical peel uses a solution of carefully selected acids — such as alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids — applied to the skin for a controlled time to loosen and remove dead surface cells and stimulate renewal underneath. Depending on the formulation and strength, a peel can brighten a dull complexion, smooth rough texture, soften fine lines, help unclog congested skin and fade early sun- or post-inflammatory pigmentation. At Dr Luch the skin is assessed first and the peel matched to your skin type and goals; superficial peels suit most people with minimal downtime, while stronger peels achieve more but ask for more recovery and sun care. The treatment itself takes around twenty to thirty minutes and may cause a brief tingling or warmth as it works. Afterwards the skin can look pink and feel tight, with light flaking or peeling over the next few days as it renews. Diligent moisturising and daily SPF are essential during and after a course, as freshly resurfaced skin is more sensitive to sun. Because the benefit is cumulative for many concerns, a short course of peels is often recommended, with maintenance as needed; peels also combine well with mesotherapy and microneedling as part of a skin-quality plan. Peels are avoided over active infection, on broken skin and in pregnancy for certain agents; suitability is confirmed at consultation.
