Hyperhidrosis Treatment (Botulinum Toxin)

Treatment for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) uses botulinum toxin placed as a grid of small intradermal injections across the affected area. The toxin temporarily interrupts the chemical signal between nerves and the eccrine sweat glands, which is associated with a substantial reduction in local sweat production for a period of months before the effect gradually wears off and the session can be repeated.

At Dr Kopaczyński the physician first confirms the area to be treated — most commonly the underarms, but also the palms of the hands or the soles of the feet — and, for the hands and feet, takes steps to keep the more sensitive injections comfortable. The procedure itself usually takes around twenty to forty minutes.
