Profhilo is a bio-remodelling injectable that differs fundamentally from traditional dermal fillers. Rather than adding volume or filling wrinkles, Profhilo uses a patented complex of high-molecular-weight and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (64mg per 2ml syringe) to stimulate the skin's own production of collagen, elastin, and adipocytes (fat cells). The result is improved skin quality -- better hydration, elasticity, and firmness -- from the inside out. At Dr. Jahnke & Colleagues, Profhilo is injected using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique: five precise injection points per side of the face, chosen because they sit at anatomical junctions where the product can spread most effectively through the tissue. The slow-release hyaluronic acid complex disperses over several weeks, acting as a scaffold that supports the skin's regenerative processes. The treatment is particularly effective for patients who notice a loss of skin quality -- crepey texture, reduced bounce, visible pores, and early jowl formation -- but who do not need or want the volumising effect of traditional fillers. Profhilo addresses the underlying tissue quality rather than masking individual wrinkles. The standard protocol is two sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Results develop gradually over 4 to 8 weeks after the second session as collagen and elastin remodelling takes effect. Maintenance is typically one session every 6 months. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and involves minimal downtime -- small wheals at injection sites resolve within hours, and mild bruising is uncommon. Profhilo can also be used on the neck, décolletage, and hands, areas where skin laxity and crepiness are common but where traditional fillers carry higher complication risks.
