Thread Lift (Lifting Threads)

A thread lift uses absorbable threads placed under the skin to gently lift and reposition sagging tissue and to stimulate collagen along their path. It offers a less invasive alternative to a surgical lift for early jowls, a softening jawline or mid-face descent. A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure in which fine, absorbable threads — often with tiny barbs or cones along their length — are introduced beneath the skin and used to lift and reposition tissue that has begun to descend. As well as the immediate mechanical lift, the threads are associated with stimulation of collagen along their track, which can support skin quality as they are gradually absorbed over the following months. It is commonly used for early jowls, a softening jawline, the mid-face and the brow. At Dr Biegański's clinic the surgeon assesses your facial structure and the degree of laxity to judge whether a thread lift is suitable and how many threads the area requires. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic: the threads are placed through tiny entry points and adjusted to achieve a natural lift. The procedure typically takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, and you can expect some swelling, tenderness, bruising and a feeling of tightness for several days, with care needed to avoid wide mouth movements and facial massage while the threads settle. Results are visible immediately and continue to refine as any swelling resolves; because the threads are absorbable the lift is temporary and softens over time.
