Bruxism Treatment (Masseter Botulinum Toxin)

Masseter botulinum toxin targets the large muscles at the angle of the jaw that drive chewing and, when overactive, contribute to night-time grinding and daytime clenching known as bruxism. By partially relaxing these muscles, the treatment is associated with reduced jaw tension and clenching force; because the masseter also shapes the lower face, easing its bulk can additionally give a softer, slimmer jawline over time.

At Dr Biegański's clinic the surgeon first examines the jaw muscles — often asking you to clench so the masseter can be felt and mapped — before placing a small number of injections into each side with a fine needle.
