Injection Lipolysis (Fat-Dissolving)

Injection lipolysis uses a fat-dissolving solution injected into small, stubborn pockets of fat — such as under the chin or along the jawline — to gradually reduce a localised bulge. It is a non-surgical option for areas that resist diet and exercise, and works over a course of sessions. Injection lipolysis is a non-surgical fat-reduction treatment in which a solution designed to break down fat cells is injected directly into a small, localised deposit. Over the following weeks the disrupted fat is gradually cleared by the body, which is associated with a modest reduction in the treated bulge. It is best suited to small, defined areas — most commonly the fat under the chin (a double chin), but also pockets on the jawline or body — rather than large-volume fat reduction, for which surgical liposuction is more appropriate. At Dr Biegański's clinic the surgeon first assesses the area to confirm that injection lipolysis is a sensible option and to set realistic expectations. The solution is then injected across the target pocket using a fine needle; the session itself is short. Some swelling, tenderness, firmness or bruising in the area is expected for several days afterwards as the treatment takes effect. Because each session produces a gradual change, a course of two or more treatments spaced several weeks apart is usually needed, with the final result building over the weeks that follow.
