BodyTite (Radiofrequency-Assisted Lipolysis)

Type

Body Contouring

Duration

2 hours

BodyTite is an FDA-cleared minimally invasive radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) device that simultaneously liquefies fat and contracts the overlying skin through bipolar radiofrequency energy delivered between an internal cannula and an external electrode. Temperature-controlled for safety. Treats abdomen, flanks, arms, thighs, and knees. FaceTite applies the same technology to the neck and lower face. Minimal downtime compared to surgical alternatives.

BodyTite at Dr. Kolker's practice offers a minimally invasive alternative to liposuction and surgical skin tightening for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity and fat excess who want meaningful contouring with limited downtime and no significant scarring. The device uses bipolar radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) — delivering controlled RF energy between a thin internal electrode (inserted through a small access incision similar to liposuction) and an external electrode held against the skin surface. As the internal electrode moves through the subcutaneous fat layer, the bipolar RF field heats fat cells to the point of liquefaction while simultaneously heating the overlying dermis to a controlled temperature that stimulates collagen contraction and neocollagenesis. An internal temperature monitoring system continuously measures tissue temperature at both the internal tip and the skin surface, providing real-time feedback to keep the energy within a therapeutic window that achieves fat reduction and skin tightening without thermal injury to surrounding structures. The primary advantage over traditional liposuction is the addition of meaningful skin contraction — a particularly relevant benefit for patients with mild laxity who might otherwise require surgical skin excision (e.g., an arm lift or inner thigh lift) but would rather avoid the associated scarring and recovery. Treatment areas include the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, arms, knees, and bra-line. FaceTite applies the identical RF platform with a smaller-calibre handpiece to the neck, jowls, and lower face, addressing mild neck laxity and jowl fat without the incisions of a surgical neck lift or facelift. BodyTite/FaceTite can be performed as a standalone procedure or combined with surgical procedures such as liposuction for larger fat volumes or as an adjunct to surgical body contouring.
