Extraction
Duration
30 min
Removal of a tooth that cannot be saved, performed under local anaesthetic. A standard extraction covers a tooth that can be removed conventionally, with lower pricing for loose teeth and higher pricing for surgical, piezosurgical or wisdom-tooth cases. The clinic can also place platelet-rich plasma or bone-preserving biomaterials at the same visit when implant treatment is planned later.
A tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that is too damaged, decayed, loose or problematic to keep — for example because of severe decay, advanced gum disease, a fracture below the gum, or to prepare for orthodontic or implant treatment. At Dobosz Implanty a standard extraction is carried out under local anaesthetic and refers to a tooth that can be removed by conventional means; a tooth that is already very loose is simpler and priced lower, while teeth that are broken down, impacted or have difficult roots may need a surgical or piezosurgical approach at a higher fee. Before removal the dentist reviews the tooth, often with an X-ray or CBCT scan, to plan the procedure and to discuss how the gap will be managed afterwards. Wisdom-tooth (third molar) removal is priced separately according to difficulty, as impacted lower wisdom teeth in particular can require surgical access. After an extraction the socket is managed to support healthy healing, and because the practice focuses on implants it can, where relevant, place bone-preserving biomaterials or platelet-rich plasma at the same appointment to maintain the site for a future implant. Patients are given clear aftercare guidance to reduce the risk of complications such as a dry socket. Replacing an extracted tooth — with an implant, bridge or denture — is discussed as part of planning so that function and appearance can be restored. The consultation confirms whether extraction is truly necessary or whether the tooth can instead be saved with root canal treatment or restoration.
