Full-Ceramic Crown

Type

Crowns & Bridges

Duration

1 hour

A full-ceramic crown that caps a damaged, heavily filled or root-treated natural tooth to restore its strength and appearance. Made with CAD/CAM technology and shade-matched to the surrounding teeth, it covers the whole visible tooth for a durable, natural-looking result. The clinic also offers a premium hand-layered ceramic version and an economical long-term composite crown.

A crown is a custom-made cap that covers a natural tooth which has been weakened by decay, a large filling, a fracture or root canal treatment, rebuilding its shape, strength and appearance. At Dobosz Implanty crowns are typically full ceramic, prized for their natural translucency and absence of any metal core, and are produced using CAD/CAM design and intraoral scanning for an accurate fit. Treatment usually involves preparing the tooth by removing damaged tissue and shaping it to receive the crown, then taking a digital scan or impression. The definitive crown is manufactured and fitted at a later visit, with the bite and contacts checked and adjusted for comfort; a temporary crown may protect the tooth in the meantime. Full-ceramic crowns are particularly suitable for visible front and premolar teeth where appearance is important, while the clinic's premium hand-layered ceramic option allows finer characterisation for demanding aesthetic cases. For patients wanting a lower-cost or longer-term provisional solution, a milled composite (PMMA) crown is also offered. A well-fitted crown can last many years; longevity is associated with good oral hygiene, a healthy supporting tooth and avoiding habits such as biting hard objects. Suitability and the most appropriate material are discussed at consultation, where the condition of the underlying tooth is assessed.
