PDO thread treatments use absorbable surgical threads placed under the skin to lift and reposition tissue or, in the case of finer mono threads, to stimulate collagen and improve skin quality. Lifting threads suit early jowls and a softening jawline, while revitalising threads are used to firm and refresh areas such as the cheeks or neck. The number of threads is tailored to the area, and results combine an immediate effect with gradual collagen stimulation.

Thread lifting uses threads made from polydioxanone (PDO) — a material long used in absorbable surgical sutures — introduced under the skin with a fine needle or cannula.
