Native 3T MRI of a single shoulder covering the rotator cuff, glenoid labrum, biceps tendon, and glenohumeral joint. Detailed assessment for impingement, tears, and instability.
The shoulder MRI protocol at Diagnosezentrum Salzburg is optimized for the 3T field strength to resolve the fine anatomy of the rotator cuff tendons, glenoid labrum, and long head of the biceps tendon. Imaging planes are aligned to the supraspinatus tendon axis for optimal rotator cuff visualization. The radiologist reports on each rotator cuff tendon individually -- supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis -- grading any tendinopathy, partial-thickness tears, or full-thickness tears with measurements of retraction and fatty infiltration. The labrum is assessed for superior (SLAP) and inferior (Bankart) lesions. Subacromial bursal fluid, acromioclavicular joint arthropathy, and os acromiale variants are also documented. Priced at EUR 270 as a single-region scan, this is commonly requested for persistent shoulder pain unresponsive to physiotherapy, post-dislocation instability assessment, and pre-surgical planning for rotator cuff repair or labral stabilization.
