CO2 Laser Lesion Removal

Type

Laser

Duration

30 min

Non-surgical removal of benign skin lesions using the clinic's fractional CO2 laser — a computer-controlled, non-contact method that replaces the scalpel for the vast majority of superficial growths. Moles (intradermal nevi), fibromas, hemangiomas, seborrhoeic keratoses (age spots/warts) and small pigmented spots are vaporised precisely without affecting surrounding tissue. No sutures are required, and healing follows the same course as any superficial surface wound. Multiple lesions can be addressed in a single session at a reduced per-lesion rate. A digital dermatoscopy assessment beforehand confirms that each lesion is benign and determines whether laser removal is the appropriate method.

CO2 laser lesion removal at Dermo Písek is the clinic's preferred method for excising superficial benign skin growths without incision, bleeding or sutures. The carbon dioxide laser delivers precisely targeted energy that vaporises abnormal tissue layer by layer, controlled by the practitioner at the computer console. Because the laser beam is non-contact — it never touches the skin — there is no mechanical trauma, and surrounding healthy tissue is largely unaffected by the thermal energy, which is confined to the treatment column. Lesion types routinely treated by this method include intradermal nevi (common flesh-coloured moles), fibromas (small benign connective-tissue growths), hemangiomas (vascular red spots, including cherry angiomas), seborrhoeic keratoses (the warty, pigmented growths common from middle age onwards, sometimes called age warts or stařecké bradavice in Czech), and small flat pigmented spots. The clinical workflow begins with a digital dermatoscopy examination to confirm the lesion is benign and to rule out any atypical features that would require histological assessment (surgical excision and biopsy). Once confirmed as suitable, the lesion is treated in the same or a subsequent appointment. The laser removes tissue until the lesion is fully ablated, after which the area heals over 7–14 days — similar in appearance and duration to a graze. No stitches, no wound closure and no post-operative drain are required. Multiple lesions can be treated in the same session. The first lesion is charged at 1,300 Kč (130,000 minor units); each additional lesion treated in the same sitting is 600 Kč (60,000 minor units), making it cost-effective to clear several lesions in a single visit. Aftercare: keep the treated area clean and dry, apply the provided wound care product, and avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. SPF 50+ over the area for at least four weeks after healing reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Who is suitable: anyone with benign surface lesions they wish to remove for cosmetic or comfort reasons (rubbing on clothing), or lesions that the dermatoscope has confirmed require removal. The procedure is not appropriate for lesions with any features suggestive of malignancy, which require surgical excision and histology.
