RF Microneedling (Secret)

RF microneedling with the Secret platform combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy released into the deeper skin to firm laxity and refine texture more than microneedling alone. It is used on the face, neck and décolletage, and is also offered for scars and stretch marks. By heating the dermis it is associated with collagen stimulation over the following weeks, making it suited to early laxity, uneven texture and scarring; a short course gives the most noticeable result.

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling pairs the controlled micro-injury of microneedling with radiofrequency energy delivered from the needle tips into the deeper layers of the skin. While the fine needles create channels that prompt a surface healing response, the radiofrequency heats the dermis, which is associated with contraction of existing collagen and the formation of new collagen and elastin. Together these effects are aimed at firming the skin and improving its texture — a combination that microneedling alone does not achieve. At Dermo-Estetic the treatment is carried out with the Secret RF system. The skin is cleansed and a numbing cream applied before treatment, which takes around forty-five minutes to an hour depending on the area. Redness and a sensation of mild tightness or warmth are common for a day or two, with limited other downtime. The centre treats the face, the face and neck together, and the face, neck and décolletage, and also uses RF microneedling on scars and stretch marks. Because the firming effect builds as collagen remodels, a course is recommended for best results, and a three-treatment package is offered. Strict sun protection afterwards is advised. The treatment is reviewed for suitability beforehand — including for anyone with certain implanted electronic devices — and is avoided in pregnancy and over active skin infection.
