Cryolipolysis with the Cooltech system uses controlled cooling to target localised pockets of fat in areas that can resist diet and exercise, such as the abdomen, flanks and a double chin. The cooled fat cells are gradually cleared by the body over the weeks after treatment. Cryolipolysis is a non-surgical body-contouring method that applies precisely controlled cooling to a defined area of fat. Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the surrounding skin and tissue, and the cooling is intended to affect the targeted fat cells, which are then gradually processed and cleared by the body's normal metabolism over the following weeks. The aim is a reduction in a localised bulge of fat rather than overall weight loss, so it is best suited to specific pockets that persist despite a stable weight and regular exercise. At Dermo-Estetic the treatment is delivered with the Cooltech platform. An applicator draws the target area into a cup and cools it for the duration of the session; an intense cold and a pulling sensation are usual at first and typically ease as the area becomes numb, and patients can relax during treatment. Common areas include the abdomen, flanks and other body zones, with a dedicated smaller applicator available for a double chin. Afterwards the area may be red, firm, swollen or temporarily numb for a period, and results develop gradually as the body clears the affected cells, so a single area may benefit from more than one session for a fuller effect.
