Injection lipolysis uses a series of micro-injections of a fat-dissolving solution to target small, localised pockets of fat that resist diet and exercise — such as the abdomen, flanks, arms, thighs, back and the area under the chin. It is a non-surgical approach to body contouring and works best over a planned course.

Injection lipolysis is a non-surgical body-contouring treatment in which a solution designed to break down fat cells is delivered through a series of fine micro-injections directly into a localised fat deposit. As the treated fat cells are gradually broken down, the body clears them over the following weeks, which is associated with a modest reduction in the fullness of the treated area. It is intended for small, stubborn pockets of fat rather than overall weight loss, and at Dermedica is offered for areas such as the abdomen, flanks, arms, thighs and back, as well as a dedicated submental (double-chin) treatment. At the studio the area is assessed and marked before cosmetologist Natalia Kapturska delivers the injections; the number of ampoules depends on the size of the area, which is why pricing is set per ampoule. Some swelling, tenderness, warmth, redness or bruising in the treated area for several days is expected and is part of the process as the fat is broken down. Because results build gradually, a course of several sessions spaced roughly four weeks apart is usually recommended, with the final effect judged some weeks after the last session. Injection lipolysis may support a slimmer, smoother contour in the treated area for clients close to their target shape with localised fullness; it is not a treatment for significant weight loss, and realistic expectations are set at assessment. Suitability and contraindications are reviewed beforehand, and it is avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
