Carboxytherapy — Face & Revitalisation

Carboxytherapy delivers small, controlled amounts of medical carbon dioxide just beneath the skin through very fine needles to support microcirculation and skin revitalisation. At Dermedica it is offered for the face and surrounding areas — eyes, chin, full face, and the face-neck-décolleté combination — and is the studio owner's particular area of study. It suits clients wanting fresher, better-toned skin and is delivered as a short course for the most noticeable results.

Carboxytherapy is a treatment in which a small, precisely metered amount of medical-grade carbon dioxide gas is introduced just under the skin using very fine needles. The local rise in carbon dioxide is thought to prompt the body to increase blood flow to the area, which is associated with improved microcirculation, oxygen delivery and stimulation of the skin's renewal processes. It is used on the face for revitalisation and to address dull, tired or ageing-looking skin, and is a long-standing focus of the studio — owner Natalia Kapturska's master's research is on carboxytherapy. At Dermedica the area is cleansed and the gas is delivered through a fine needle; clients commonly feel a brief tingling, warmth or mild pressure as the gas disperses, which settles within minutes. A facial session takes around fifteen to thirty minutes depending on the area treated, from the delicate eye zone or chin up to the full face or the combined face, neck and décolleté. There is little downtime — some short-lived redness or a crackling sensation under the skin is normal. Because the effect builds over time, carboxytherapy is best delivered as a course of several sessions spaced about a week apart, with maintenance afterwards. It may support a fresher, more even and better-toned complexion and combines well with mesotherapy and skin boosters, which the studio also offers. Suitability is assessed beforehand and the treatment is avoided in pregnancy and certain medical conditions.
