Mole & Skin Lesion Removal

Type

Mole Removal

Duration

30 min

Specialist mole and skin lesion removal by FAMS dermatologists using shave excision, surgical excision, or laser techniques. Suspicious lesions sent for histopathology. Includes follow-up and scar management advice.

Dermatology Collective offers surgical and laser mole removal performed by fellowship-trained dermatologists in a fully equipped clinic setting. All lesions are evaluated clinically — and with dermoscopy where appropriate — before the most suitable removal technique is selected. Shave excision is used for raised, benign lesions: the area is numbed with local anaesthetic and the mole is shaved flush with the skin surface; no sutures are needed and healing typically occurs within two weeks with minimal scarring. Surgical excision is reserved for deeper lesions, those with irregular borders, or cases where histopathological analysis is required. The excision includes a margin of surrounding healthy tissue, and the wound is closed with sutures; this technique provides a definitive specimen for laboratory assessment. MOHS micrographic surgery is available for high-risk skin cancers on functionally or cosmetically sensitive areas (e.g., face, digits), where precise margin control is essential. Laser removal is an option for small, superficial, non-pigmented benign moles where pathology is not required. Post-procedure care instructions, scar minimisation advice, and follow-up appointments are included in all removals. The number of lesions and technique used determines cost; patients are advised to discuss pricing during their initial consultation.
