Full-body mole mapping using the FotoFinder ATBM Master — a medical-grade digital dermatoscopy system with AI-assisted image analysis — to detect suspicious or changing pigmented lesions and support early skin cancer prevention. DermaMedEst stores all captured images digitally for comparative analysis at each subsequent visit, enabling detection of change that would be invisible without a baseline photo. The FotoFinder AI flags lesions with atypical dermoscopic features for physician review. Manual dermatoscope examination is also available for patients who need a targeted assessment rather than whole-body mapping.
Dermoscopy reveals structures inside pigmented skin lesions that are invisible to the unaided eye — pigment network patterns, vascular structures, regression areas, globules and dots — which together allow a trained dermatologist to classify a lesion as benign, atypical or suspicious before deciding whether excision and histopathology are warranted. The transition from conventional to digital dermoscopy adds a further dimension: images are captured, indexed to anatomical location and stored electronically, so that at each follow-up the same lesion can be re-imaged and compared side by side with its baseline photograph. Time-comparative analysis is the single most sensitive method for detecting change — the first and most reliable signal that a melanocytic lesion is evolving. At DermaMedEst the FotoFinder ATBM Master is the platform for whole-body mole mapping. ATBM (Automated Total Body Mapping) captures standardised photographs of the full body surface and then applies the FotoFinder dermoscopy system at any lesion flagged for closer inspection. The integrated AI module — trained on large dermoscopic image datasets — performs automated pattern analysis against the dermoscopic criteria of concern and provides a risk stratification score for each imaged lesion. The dermatologist reviews all AI flags in clinical context, integrating the patient's personal history, family history and Fitzpatrick phototype. Prim. MUDr. et Bc. Lucie Jarešová applies the full ABCD dermatoscopy algorithm — Asymmetry, Border, Colour, Diameter and dermoscopic structures — to every lesion of concern. Lesions classified as suspicious are referred for surgical excision and histopathological analysis, which can be carried out in DermaMedEst's own minor operating room. The clinic offers ongoing oncological dispensary care for patients with diagnosed skin malignancy requiring specialist follow-up. For patients who do not need whole-body mapping — for example those with a single changing lesion — a targeted manual dermatoscope consultation is available at 1,500–2,000 Kč. The FotoFinder protocol is recommended annually or every six months for patients at elevated risk: those with more than 50 moles, a personal or family history of melanoma, skin type I–II, extensive past sun exposure or prior significant sunburn. The procedure is non-invasive and painless; no preparation is required other than avoiding artificial tan for two weeks before to ensure accurate image interpretation.
