The Hollywood Spectra laser protocol applies nano carbon particles to the skin as a 'Hollywood peeling' mask, then activates them with the Hollywood Spectra laser for a multi-effect resurfacing treatment. The carbon absorbs the laser energy and explodes, ejecting sebum and debris from pores, while the heat destroys C. acnes bacteria and stimulates collagen. The 10–15 minute procedure treats pigmentation, melasma, acne, enlarged pores, rosacea and multicolour tattoo removal. DermaMedEst offers this as a quick, no-downtime skin brightening session.
The Hollywood Spectra carbon laser peel — also known as the carbon peel or carbon laser facial — is a two-step procedure using a nano-particle carbon solution and a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser platform. The carbon solution is painted across the face in a thin layer; the fine particles of activated carbon are drawn into the pores and bond to sebum, oil and debris within the follicular opening. When the Hollywood Spectra laser fires over the carbon-coated skin, the carbon particles instantly absorb the laser energy and vaporise explosively. This micro-explosion has several simultaneous effects: it physically ejects the contents of the pore, creating a mechanical deep-cleaning effect; the heat generated by the exploding carbon destroys Cutibacterium acnes bacteria living in the sebaceous follicle; and the laser energy that passes through the exploded carbon layer then enters the dermis, stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen in the weeks following the treatment. The Hollywood Spectra platform at DermaMedEst uses a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with very short nanosecond pulses. This pulse duration is highly effective for shattering pigment particles — both endogenous skin pigmentation (melanin in freckles, sun spots and melasma patches) and exogenous tattoo ink — into fragments small enough for the body's lymphatic system to clear. The laser can be calibrated to different wavelengths (typically 1064 nm for deeper pigment and 532 nm for superficial pigmentation and certain tattoo ink colours), making it one of the few systems capable of addressing multicolour tattoos in a single session. The procedure takes only 10–15 minutes: the carbon mask is applied and left for a few minutes to bond to pore contents, then the laser handpiece is passed across the entire face in two sweeps — the first to heat the carbon layer, the second to activate and vaporise it. Patients feel moderate warmth and a prickling sensation as the carbon explodes. There is no anaesthetic required. Immediately after the session the skin appears flushed and pores look visibly tightened. The glow effect is perceptible within hours; no social downtime is typically needed. For ongoing acne management, pigmentation reduction or pore control, a series of monthly sessions produces cumulative improvement.
