i-PRF Platelet Treatment (Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin)

Type

PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

i-PRF uses a small sample of your own blood, spun to produce a platelet- and fibrin-rich liquid that is injected to stimulate skin repair and rejuvenation. Because it is autologous — derived entirely from you — it is well tolerated and a natural option for improving skin quality. Dermamed prices i-PRF by the number of ampoules used, and a short course typically gives the most noticeable results.

i-PRF (injectable platelet-rich fibrin) is a regenerative skin treatment that uses your own blood's healing components. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge at low speed to produce a liquid fraction rich in platelets, white cells and fibrin, which carries growth factors that signal tissue repair and collagen production. This is then injected into the skin to rejuvenate tone, texture and firmness, and is sometimes combined with microneedling for a stronger effect. At Dermamed the process — blood draw, preparation and treatment — takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing cream applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of allergy to a foreign substance, which is why platelet treatments are popular with patients who prefer a natural approach. Expect mild redness or small bruises for a day or two. Results build gradually as collagen remodels over several weeks, so the treatment is generally associated with the best outcomes when delivered as a course of sessions spaced a few weeks apart, with maintenance once or twice a year. i-PRF is well suited to dull or tired skin, fine lines and thinner, crêpey areas. Suitability is assessed at consultation; it is not performed in pregnancy or in certain blood or clotting conditions.
