Submental Injection Lipolysis (Double Chin)

The submental fat pad — the localised fat that sits beneath the chin and creates the appearance of a double chin — is frequently resistant to diet and exercise because it is largely determined by genetics and anatomy rather than overall body weight. Injection lipolysis offers a non-surgical way to reduce a modest amount of this fat and improve the jaw-to-neck contour.

The principle is the direct delivery of a fat-dissolving (lipolytic) solution into the subcutaneous fat layer. Introduced through a series of fine micro-injections spread across the submental zone, the solution disrupts the fat cells locally so that a small volume of fat tissue is broken down and gradually cleared by the body. Because the injections are shallow and the volumes small, the procedure is generally well tolerated and described as not painful.
