Injectable Lipolysis (Fat-Dissolving Injections)

Injectable lipolysis at DermaEsthetic uses a phosphatidylcholine-based solution delivered by fine needle injections directly into localised fat deposits that resist diet and exercise — primarily the submental area (double chin), lower abdomen, inner thighs and saddlebags. The active substances accelerate fat cell membrane breakdown and mobilise stored triglycerides for gradual elimination by the lymphatic system over the following weeks. Unlike surgical liposuction, there are no incisions, no scars and no general anaesthesia. MUDr. Šulcová recommends two to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart; rest and increased fluid intake are advised in the week following each session.

Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) — derived from soy lecithin — has a natural affinity for the phospholipid membranes of adipocytes (fat cells). When injected in a therapeutic concentration directly into a subcutaneous fat compartment, PPC disrupts the integrity of the fat cell membrane, causing the cell to release its stored triglyceride contents. The released fatty acids are then metabolised and cleared by the lymphatic and hepatic systems over the following four to eight weeks. Deoxycholate (DC) is commonly added as a co-solvent to enhance the emulsification of released lipids and further support clearance. Fine needles are used for multiple injections at 1–2 cm intervals across the zone; the injections themselves are brief and cause a mild stinging sensation during delivery, with a warm, tight sensation in the area over the following 24–48 hours as the inflammatory response begins. The treated zone typically shows swelling and tenderness for three to seven days — a predictable consequence of the fat cell disruption process. The localised fat reduction visible after a course of treatment is gradual: the first measurable change is typically perceptible at four to eight weeks after a session, as the cleared fat volume and any fibrous contraction produce a visible contouring effect. Results are enhanced by the skin tightening response that can occur in some patients as the fat thins. Optimal outcomes in the submental area (chin) typically require two to three sessions; larger body zones may need three to four sessions for a satisfying result. Post-treatment instructions include at least one week of reduced physical exertion, increased water and mineral intake to support lymphatic clearance, and avoidance of alcohol and heat (saunas, hot baths) for 48 hours. The treatment is not a weight-loss method and is not intended for patients who are overweight rather than having localised deposits. Contraindications include liver disease, severe dyslipidaemia, active infection at the injection site, pregnancy, breastfeeding and certain autoimmune conditions.
