Laser hair removal with the Vectus diode laser provides long-term reduction of unwanted hair on the face and body. At DermaDerm individual zones from the upper lip to the legs are priced separately so you only pay for what you treat. The laser targets the pigment in the hair to disable the follicle, and because hair grows in cycles a course of sessions is needed for lasting smoothness.
About this treatment
Laser hair removal uses a focused beam of light absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair shaft and follicle. The light energy converts to heat and damages the follicle's ability to regrow hair, while the surrounding skin is protected — at DermaDerm by the Vectus diode laser, which combines a contact-cooling sapphire tip and a sizeable spot to treat areas comfortably and efficiently. At the appointment the area is shaved if needed, protective eyewear is worn and the laser is passed over the skin; most people describe a warm snapping sensation eased by the built-in cooling.
