Laser hair removal with Diolaze XL works by directing a diode laser at the melanin pigment inside each hair follicle. The light is absorbed and converted to heat, which damages the follicle's ability to regrow hair while sparing the surrounding skin. Because the laser targets hairs in their active growth phase — and only a portion of follicles are in that phase at any time — a course of treatments is needed to progressively reduce hair across an area. The result is long-term reduction in hair density, with remaining hairs typically finer and lighter.
