About this treatment
A chemical peel uses a solution of exfoliating acids — such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic, mandelic or trichloroacetic acid, chosen by strength and type — applied to the skin to dissolve the bonds between dead and damaged surface cells so they shed and reveal fresher skin beneath. Lighter, superficial peels brighten and smooth the very top layer with little to no downtime, while medium-depth peels reach further to address more stubborn pigmentation, sun…
During the treatment the skin is cleansed and degreased, the peel solution is applied and left for a controlled time — often with a tingling or warm sensation — and then neutralised or allowed to self-neutralise depending on the product. A single application takes around twenty to thirty minutes.
