Prophilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid product in a class of its own — it is not a volumising filler and does not add bulk. Instead, it works as a bio-remodeller: the very high concentration of HA (32 mg per 2 ml) spreads in a thin layer under the skin, stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin from within. The result is improved skin firmness, elasticity and hydration rather than volume correction. About this treatment
Prophilo (manufactured by Italian pharmaceutical company IBSA) is a stabilised high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid formulation. Unlike standard hyaluronic acid fillers, it contains no added lidocaine, no chemical cross-linking agents and no structural additives. How it works
When injected subdermally, Prophilo spreads across the treatment area through a process called 'bio-remodelling by diffusion.' The product migrates through connective tissue planes, stimulating fibroblasts to increase collagen and elastin production throughout the treated zone. The HA itself also provides immediate hydration by binding water molecules in the dermis.
