Prophilo (manufactured by Italian pharmaceutical company IBSA) is a stabilised high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid formulation. Unlike standard hyaluronic acid fillers, it contains no added lidocaine, no chemical cross-linking agents and no structural additives. Its ultra-high concentration (32 mg/2 ml) creates a hybrid cooperative complex of high-molecular-weight and low-molecular-weight HA chains that provides sustained stimulation of fibroblasts — the skin cells that manufacture collagen (types I, III and IV), elastin and laminin. The effect is genuine biological remodelling of the dermis rather than mechanical volume replacement. **How it works:** When injected subdermally, Prophilo spreads across the treatment area through a process called 'bio-remodelling by diffusion.' The product migrates through connective tissue planes, stimulating fibroblasts to increase collagen and elastin production throughout the treated zone. The HA itself also provides immediate hydration by binding water molecules in the dermis. **The BAP injection technique:** Prophilo is administered at five standardised Bio Aesthetic Points on each side of the face — anchor points chosen anatomically to ensure optimal distribution across the cheeks, jowl area and perioral region.
