PDRN-VITARAN is a Korean polynucleotide (PDRN — polydeoxyribonucleotide) biostimulator derived from salmon DNA fragments. When micro-injected into the periorbital area, the polynucleotide molecules bind to specific receptors (A2A adenosine receptors) in skin fibroblasts, triggering cellular regeneration, collagen synthesis and improved micro-circulation. The eye area treatment targets crow's feet, under-eye fine lines, dark circles caused by poor micro-circulation, and skin thinning in the periorbital zone — one of the earliest and most delicate areas to show age-related change. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) technology was originally developed in wound healing and burns medicine before aesthetic applications were established. PDRN-VITARAN (HP VITARAN) is a Korean biostimulator product using highly purified salmon-derived polynucleotides — short double-stranded DNA fragments that, when injected into the dermis, activate the A2A adenosine receptor pathway. **Mechanism:** Activation of the A2A receptor stimulates fibroblasts to upregulate collagen and extracellular matrix production, promotes angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation, which improves tissue nutrition and reduces dark circles caused by vascular stasis), and triggers wound-repair cascades that accelerate tissue regeneration. Unlike hyaluronic acid, which acts primarily as a hydration reservoir, PDRN drives active biological repair at the cellular level. **Why the eye area specifically:** The periorbital skin is among the thinnest on the body — approximately 0.5 mm compared to 2 mm elsewhere — making it uniquely susceptible to early ageing. It lacks sebaceous glands, has limited subcutaneous fat and is under constant mechanical stress from blinking (~10,000 times daily). PDRN's regenerative and vascular stimulation properties make it particularly suited to this area, addressing: - Fine lines and crow's feet (lateral orbital lines) - Under-eye hollowness and crepey texture - Dark circles related to poor micro-circulation - Periorbital skin thinning and dullness **What to expect during the session:** A numbing cream (EMLA, available for an additional 100 Kč) may be applied to the periorbital area for 30 minutes before the procedure if requested. MUDr. Jůzlová then administers 1 ml of PDRN-VITARAN using a very fine needle in a series of micro-injections around the eye contour. The session takes approximately 20–30 minutes including preparation. Small wheals (raised spots) are normal at injection points and resolve within 30–60 minutes. Bruising is possible, particularly around the thin under-eye skin. **Protocol:** 2–3 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart for the primary course. Results build progressively — the regenerative process continues for 4–6 weeks after each session. Maintenance injections every 3–6 months sustain the effect. **Summer suitability:** Unlike retinoid creams or chemical peels, PDRN does not increase UV sensitivity, making it a preferred choice for skin rejuvenation during summer months. **Contraindications:** Active infection at the treatment site, known allergy to fish/salmon products, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Autoimmune conditions should be discussed with MUDr. Jůzlová before treatment. **Aftercare:** Avoid make-up on the treated area for 12 hours. No direct sun exposure for 24 hours. Use gentle skin care products for 48 hours post-treatment.
