Fractional laser resurfacing applied to specific facial zones rather than the full face — appropriate when concerns are concentrated in one area (persistent crow's feet, a cluster of acne scars on the cheeks, or perioral lines) or when a patient prefers a more targeted approach with correspondingly less recovery time. At DermaClinique Písek, MUDr. Jůzlová, Ph.D. can concentrate fractional treatment on one or two zones — forehead, cheeks, periorbital area or perioral region — producing meaningful improvement in the targeted area while leaving the rest of the face untreated. The session is shorter and the recovery is typically faster than for a full-face protocol.
Partial-face fractional resurfacing follows the same biological principles as full-face treatment — microscopic column ablation, wound healing cascade, collagen remodelling — but confined to specific anatomical zones. This approach offers several advantages for patients whose concerns are not distributed across the entire face. **Appropriate candidates for partial-face treatment:** - Adults with concentrated acne scarring on cheeks or chin while the forehead is clear - Periorbital fine lines (crow's feet) as the primary concern — treating only the lateral orbital zone - Perioral lines — the upper lip and chin area treated independently - Forehead lines as a standalone concern — particularly in patients who have already received botulinum toxin in this area and want a deeper structural improvement - Patients returning for zone-specific touch-up after completing a full-face course **Treatment session experience:** A consultation and brief assessment determine which zones will be treated and at what parameters. EMLA topical cream is applied to the target zone(s) 30–45 minutes before the procedure. Laser passes are made over the defined area(s) with the same precision as in the full-face protocol. Session time is shorter than for full-face — typically 30–50 minutes total. **Recovery:** Since only part of the face is treated, the redness and crusting is confined to the treated zone(s). Social downtime is typically 3–5 days for a single-zone treatment. The untreated skin is fully normal throughout. **Protocol:** For localised acne scarring, 3–5 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart is typical. For periorbital fine lines, patients often see satisfying results within 2–3 sessions. Results mature over 3–6 months following the final session. **Combination with injectables:** Partial-face fractional resurfacing combines effectively with botulinum toxin (forehead, crow's feet) and PDRN-VITARAN biostimulation (eye area). MUDr. Jůzlová can design a sequenced treatment plan where different modalities complement each other — injectables for immediate smoothing and fractional laser for deep collagen remodelling. **Contraindications:** Same as full-face protocol — active herpes simplex, recent isotretinoin use, pregnancy.
