Anti-wrinkle injections use small, precisely placed doses of botulinum toxin to temporarily reduce the activity of selected facial muscles. By easing how strongly those muscles contract, the overlying skin creases less and existing dynamic lines may soften over the following days. At Derma Clinic the treatment begins with a doctor's assessment of your facial movement and the areas to treat — most commonly the glabella (frown lines), forehead and lateral eye area, with finer options including a brow lift, bunny lines, a lip flip, smoker's lines, neck bands and gummy-smile correction. The injections take around ten to fifteen minutes with a very fine needle; no anaesthetic is usually needed and most people return to normal activities the same day, avoiding lying flat, heat and vigorous exercise for the rest of the day. Results are typically seen after three to seven days and settle by about two weeks, generally lasting three to four months before movement gradually returns.
