Tooth Extraction

Type

Extraction

Duration

45 min

Removal of a tooth that cannot be saved, from a straightforward extraction of a damaged permanent tooth to surgical removal of an impacted wisdom tooth. At Denticus surgical and wisdom-tooth extractions are handled by Dr Rafał Dobrakowski, a maxillofacial surgeon. The fee depends on how complex the removal is — a simple single-rooted tooth, a wisdom tooth, or a fully impacted tooth that needs a surgical approach.

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that is too badly decayed, broken, infected or impacted to be restored, or that needs to come out for orthodontic or prosthetic reasons. A routine extraction of an erupted permanent tooth is carried out under local anaesthetic and priced at 400 to 800 zł depending on the tooth and the difficulty of removal. Wisdom teeth (third molars), which are frequently angled, partially erupted or crowded, are removed for 600 to 1,000 zł, while a fully impacted tooth that is buried in the bone or gum and requires a surgical approach — raising the gum and sometimes sectioning the tooth — ranges from 800 to 1,500 zł. At Denticus these surgical and wisdom-tooth cases are performed by Dr Rafał Dobrakowski (dr n. med.), a maxillofacial surgeon, often with the support of the clinic's 3D CBCT imaging to map the tooth's position relative to nerves and the sinus before surgery. After an extraction the clinic provides aftercare instructions to support normal healing of the socket and reduce the risk of complications; should a painful dry socket develop, its management is priced at 250 zł. Where a tooth is removed from a visible or load-bearing position, the dentist can discuss replacement options such as an implant, bridge or denture at a later stage. Extraction is generally considered only when a tooth cannot reasonably be saved, and the surgeon reviews medical history, medications and imaging beforehand to plan the safest approach for each case.
