Root Canal
Duration
2 hours
Microscope-assisted root canal treatment to save a tooth whose nerve has become inflamed or infected. Endodontics is one of Denticus's core areas: the dentist removes the diseased pulp, cleans and shapes the root canals under magnification, and seals them to relieve pain and retain the natural tooth. Pricing reflects how many canals the tooth has, from a simple single-canal front tooth to a four-canal molar, with retreatment of previously filled teeth also offered.
Root canal (endodontic) treatment is used when the soft pulp inside a tooth — the nerve and blood supply — becomes irreversibly inflamed or infected, often through deep decay, a crack or a failing old filling. Left untreated this can cause severe pain and abscess formation, so the aim of treatment is to remove the diseased pulp, disinfect and shape the fine canals inside the roots, and seal them, allowing the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Denticus lists microscope-assisted endodontics among its main specialities, and working under magnification helps the dentist locate and clean the canals thoroughly, including the narrow and curved canals that are easy to miss. Fees are set by the complexity of the tooth, which largely comes down to the number of canals: a single-canal tooth (typically a front tooth) is 900 zł, a two-canal tooth 1,200 zł, a three-canal tooth 1,500 zł and a four-canal molar 1,800 zł. Where a previous root filling has failed, retreatment — reopening the tooth, removing the old material and re-cleaning the canals — ranges from 1,100 to 2,000 zł, and additional procedures such as removing a separated instrument or sealing a perforation are priced individually. Treatment usually begins with a 450 zł endodontic consultation, often supported by the clinic's in-house imaging. Because a root-treated tooth can become brittle, it commonly needs a core build-up or a crown afterwards, which is quoted separately. Successful endodontic treatment is associated with relieving pain and retaining a natural tooth that would otherwise be lost; the dentist reviews the prognosis for each tooth individually before starting.
