Composite Restoration (Filling)

A tooth-coloured composite restoration to repair a tooth affected by decay, wear or a small fracture, or to rebuild a tooth after root canal treatment. Denticus places bonded composite (white) fillings matched to the natural tooth shade, restoring shape and function while keeping the repair discreet. Larger rebuilds after endodontic treatment can be reinforced with fibre for added strength.

A composite restoration, commonly called a white or tooth-coloured filling, repairs a tooth that has been damaged by decay, chipping or wear. The dentist removes any decayed tissue, prepares the cavity and builds it back up with a tooth-coloured resin that is bonded to the tooth and shaped to restore its natural form and bite, before being hardened with a curing light and polished. Because the material is matched to the shade of the surrounding enamel, the repair is far less visible than older silver amalgam fillings. At Denticus a composite filling on a vital (live) tooth is priced at 450 to 650 zł depending on how large the cavity is and how many surfaces of the tooth are involved. The same material is used to rebuild more extensively damaged teeth, particularly after root canal treatment when a significant amount of natural tooth has been lost: a post-endodontic composite rebuild is 600 to 900 zł, or 700 to 1,000 zł where the restoration is reinforced with fibre to better withstand chewing forces. A temporary filling, used between stages of treatment, is 350 zł. Composite restorations are associated with conserving healthy tooth structure compared with more extensive options and with restoring normal appearance and function; however, very large or heavily broken-down teeth may be better protected by a crown, which the dentist will discuss where appropriate.
