Professional tray-based whitening that lightens the natural teeth using custom-fitted trays and dental-grade gel used at home over a short course. At Dentica the trays are made to fit your teeth precisely so the gel stays in contact evenly and away from the gums. For a single dark tooth that has had root canal treatment, the clinic also offers internal (non-vital) whitening to address the discolouration from within.

Tray-based whitening is a professionally supervised way to lighten the colour of the natural teeth. At Dentica impressions or a scan are taken to make custom whitening trays that fit your teeth closely; you then wear the trays with a measured amount of dental-grade whitening gel for set periods over a short course at home. Whitening works on the natural tooth structure and is most effective on general yellowing or age-related darkening; it does not change the colour of fillings, crowns or veneers, so any visible restorations on front teeth may need to be reviewed afterwards to match a lighter shade.
