Endodontic Consultation

Type

Consultation

Duration

30 min

A focused consultation with certified endodontist Dr Aleksandra Cieślik-Kot to assess a tooth for root canal treatment or to investigate dental pain. The appointment includes clinical examination and diagnostic analysis to determine whether a tooth can be saved and how. For patients in acute pain, Dentica also offers emergency relief — anaesthetic, imaging and a dressing — to settle symptoms before definitive treatment.

An endodontic consultation is a focused assessment of a tooth where the nerve may be affected — for example a tooth that is painful, sensitive to temperature, discoloured or has a failing previous root filling. At Dentica it is carried out by Dr Aleksandra Cieślik-Kot, a member of the Polish (PTE) and European (ESE) endodontic societies, and includes a clinical examination and diagnostic analysis to establish what is happening inside the tooth and whether root canal treatment, retreatment or another approach is the right course. Where appropriate, the consultation can incorporate a qualifying procedure and an initial build-up so treatment can be planned accurately. For patients who arrive in acute pain, the clinic provides emergency care aimed at settling the symptoms: this typically covers local anaesthetic, radiovisiographic imaging, opening and dressing the tooth and a prescription, which relieves the immediate problem and creates time to plan and carry out definitive treatment. A standard general dental examination is also available for routine check-ups and new patients. The purpose of the consultation is to give you a clear understanding of the diagnosis, the prognosis for the tooth and the recommended options — including the prospect of keeping the tooth versus extraction — together with what the next steps and costs would be. Bringing details of any previous treatment and recent imaging, where available, helps the assessment. The dentist will explain everything found and answer your questions before any treatment is agreed.
