Dental Crown

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged, heavily filled or root-treated tooth to restore its shape, strength and appearance. A crown is a tailor-made restoration that fits over the whole visible part of a tooth, rebuilding it when it is too broken down, cracked or heavily filled to be restored with a simple filling — and routinely after root canal treatment, which leaves a tooth more brittle. By encasing the tooth, the crown restores its natural shape, protects what remains and lets it withstand normal biting forces again. At Denti Clinic the tooth is shaped under local anaesthetic and a precise digital or physical impression is taken; a temporary crown is fitted to protect it in the meantime. The final crown is designed and produced with CAD/CAM technology by the clinic's own dental technician, which keeps fabrication and any adjustments in-house. Full-ceramic crowns contain no metal, transmit light like a natural tooth and are an excellent choice for front teeth and for patients who prefer a metal-free restoration; porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns pair a strong metal substructure with a porcelain surface and remain a robust, more economical option, often for back teeth. The shade is matched to the surrounding teeth so the crown blends in. Where the tooth first needs root canal treatment or a core build-up, that is planned and priced separately.
