An initial consultation is a full examination with a dentist to assess your teeth, gums and bite, discuss any concerns and agree a treatment plan with costs. It is the recommended starting point for new patients and for anyone considering implants, crowns, veneers or a smile makeover. Digital imaging — intraoral, panoramic or CBCT 3D — can be added when needed for diagnosis and planning. For patients travelling in, it is a chance to plan treatment around a visit.

Where a diagnosis or a treatment plan needs more information, the clinic uses digital diagnostics. A single intraoral X-ray shows one or two teeth in detail; a digital panoramic X-ray captures all the teeth, both jaws and the surrounding bone in one image; and a CBCT scan produces a three-dimensional view that is particularly valuable for planning implants, assessing bone volume, locating nerves and evaluating impacted teeth or complex root canals.
