Dental Bridge

A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by joining artificial teeth to crowns on the natural teeth either side of the gap, restoring a continuous row without surgery. A bridge is a fixed restoration that closes the gap left by one or more missing teeth. The teeth on either side of the gap are prepared and crowned, and these crowns support one or more replacement teeth (pontics) joined between them, so the whole unit is cemented in place and does not come out. It restores chewing, keeps the remaining teeth from drifting into the gap and rebuilds a natural-looking smile without the surgery an implant involves. At Denti Clinic the supporting teeth are shaped under local anaesthetic and an impression is taken, with a temporary bridge fitted while the final one is made. The definitive bridge is designed and milled by the clinic's CAD/CAM technician and colour-matched to the surrounding teeth. Full-ceramic bridges are metal-free and especially suited to visible areas, while porcelain-fused-to-metal bridges add structural strength and are a more economical choice, often for longer spans or back teeth. Because the price is per unit, the total reflects how many teeth the bridge replaces and how many supports it needs. A bridge is appropriate for adults with one or more missing teeth whose adjacent teeth are healthy enough to act as anchors; where those teeth are not suitable, or to avoid crowning healthy teeth, an implant-supported option may be recommended instead.
