Tooth extraction removes a tooth that cannot be saved — for example one that is badly broken, severely decayed, or impacted. DentalCover performs simple and surgical extractions, including impacted wisdom teeth, by experienced oral surgeons. Treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia, with nitrous-oxide sedation or general anaesthesia available for anxious patients or more complex cases. Where appropriate, the team can discuss replacing the tooth, including with an implant.
About this treatment
Although the aim is always to preserve natural teeth, extraction is sometimes the most sensible option — when a tooth is too damaged to restore, severely infected, fractured below the gum, or impacted and causing problems, as is common with lower wisdom teeth.
