Removal of a wisdom tooth (third molar), whether erupted or impacted beneath the gum or bone. Erupted teeth are removed by straightforward extraction, while impacted teeth require a surgical approach handled by the clinic's surgically trained dentist. Both are performed under local anaesthetic with full aftercare, and 3D imaging is used to assess position before impacted-tooth surgery.
About this treatment
Wisdom teeth, the third molars at the very back of the mouth, often cause problems because there is too little space for them to come through cleanly. They may erupt only partially, grow at an angle, become impacted under the gum or bone, or repeatedly trap food and cause infection and pain. Removing a troublesome wisdom tooth can relieve these issues and protect the neighbouring molar.
At the clinic a wisdom tooth that has erupted normally can usually be taken out by a standard extraction. An impacted or retained wisdom tooth — one that is buried in the gum or bone — requires a surgical procedure, which is why it is priced separately and carried out by dr Bartosz Espenschied, who is trained in oral surgery and implantology.
