A sinus lift is a bone-augmentation procedure that increases the amount of bone in the upper jaw so that a dental implant can be placed securely. When the floor of the maxillary sinus sits too low or there is too little bone height, the dentist raises the sinus membrane and adds grafting material to create a stable foundation.
