The prosthetic crown fitted onto a dental implant to complete the replacement of a missing tooth. Once an implant has integrated with the jawbone, a custom-made crown is attached to it to restore the appearance and function of the tooth. About this treatment
A crown on an implant is the visible, functional part of an implant-supported tooth replacement. After a titanium implant has been placed and has integrated with the jawbone, an abutment connects the implant to a custom-made crown, which is then secured in place. The crown is fabricated in a dental laboratory to match the size, shape and colour of the neighbouring teeth so that the restored tooth blends in naturally.
At DENS Stomatologia this stage follows the healing period after implant placement and usually involves taking impressions or a scan of the site, agreeing the shade, and fitting the finished crown at a subsequent appointment. The price range reflects the different materials and laboratory work that may be appropriate for a given case.
