A dental crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged, heavily filled or root-treated tooth to restore its shape, strength and appearance. DEN-MED offers full-ceramic and zirconia-core crowns for a natural, metal-free look as well as more economical porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns. Teeth are prepared and scanned digitally, with a protective temporary crown fitted while the final restoration is made.

A crown is a tooth-shaped cover cemented over a tooth that is too broken down, cracked or heavily restored to be repaired with a simple filling — including teeth that have had root canal treatment and become brittle. It encases the visible part of the tooth, rebuilding its natural contour and protecting what remains underneath while allowing normal biting and chewing. At DEN-MED crowns are made in several materials so the choice can be matched to the tooth's position and the patient's priorities. The tooth is first prepared under local anaesthetic by removing decay and shaping it to receive the crown; a digital intraoral scan or impression is then taken, and a protective temporary crown is placed while the laboratory makes the final restoration. Full-ceramic and zirconia-core crowns are translucent and metal-free, making them a popular choice for front teeth and for patients who want the most natural appearance, while porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns are a hard-wearing, lower-cost option often used further back. At a second visit the crown is checked for fit, bite and colour before being cemented. Crowns are well suited to adults with a cracked, worn, discoloured or root-treated tooth that needs full coverage; their longevity is associated with good oral hygiene and avoiding habits such as chewing very hard objects. Material choice and the number of visits are agreed at consultation.
