Type
CT Scan
Duration
20 min
A 3D cone-beam CT scan that produces detailed cross-sectional images of the teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures — far more information than a standard X-ray. It is used to plan implant placement, assess wisdom teeth and root anatomy before surgery or root-canal treatment, and investigate jaw and sinus problems. The clinic prices the scan by how much of the jaw is captured, from a single segment to both full arches.
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a specialised dental scan that captures the teeth, roots, jawbone, nerve canals and sinuses in three dimensions. Unlike a flat two-dimensional X-ray, a CBCT lets the dentist view the anatomy from any angle and take accurate measurements, which is invaluable for planning treatment precisely and safely. At Klinika Delicadent the on-site scanner is used across several areas of care. Before implant surgery, a CBCT shows exactly how much bone is available and where important structures such as nerves and the sinus floor lie, so the implant can be positioned accurately — and a surgical guide produced if needed. It also helps in assessing impacted wisdom teeth before extraction, examining complex root-canal anatomy, and investigating jaw, joint or sinus concerns. The scan itself is quick, taking only a short time while you stay still, and is non-invasive. The clinic prices the study according to how much of the jaw needs to be imaged — a single segment, one arch, or both the upper and lower jaws together — so you only pay for the field of view your treatment requires. Conventional imaging such as a panoramic (OPG) overview or a cephalometric X-ray for orthodontic planning is also available at lower cost. As with all dental imaging, the scan is only taken when it will genuinely help diagnosis or planning, and the images become part of your treatment record. The dentist will explain why a scan is recommended and review the findings with you.
