Type

Extraction

Duration

30 min

Extraction is the removal of a tooth that cannot be saved through decay, fracture, advanced gum disease or for orthodontic reasons. At Ddent a straightforward extraction is carried out under local anaesthesia, with the tooth loosened and lifted from its socket. The centre can protect the healing socket with platelet-rich fibrin where helpful, and more complex or buried teeth are handled as surgical extractions priced separately.

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket, recommended when a tooth is too damaged by decay or fracture to restore, is severely loosened by gum disease, is causing infection, or needs to be removed as part of orthodontic or prosthetic planning. A simple extraction, where the tooth is fully erupted and accessible, is performed under local anaesthesia: the area is numbed, the tooth is gently loosened within its socket and then lifted out, and the site is cleaned. Patients feel pressure rather than pain during the procedure, and the tooth is removed as conservatively as possible. Afterwards a blood clot forms in the socket and begins the natural healing process; the clinic provides clear aftercare instructions on controlling bleeding, managing any swelling and keeping the area clean while it heals, and on what to avoid in the first day or two to protect the clot. Where helpful — for example to support healing or preserve the bone for a future implant — the centre can place platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) prepared from the patient's own blood into the socket. Teeth that are broken at the gumline, have curved or fused roots, or are partially buried are treated as surgical extractions, which are listed separately on the price list, and impacted wisdom teeth are managed by the centre's surgeons. The most appropriate approach, the need for any replacement of the missing tooth, and aftercare are discussed before treatment.
